Oh John How do you do it??

This is my question everytime I see the work this guy produces, John Gallianio is in one word AMAZING, he has been working for Christain Dior Haute Couture as chief womenswear designer since 1996, aswell as working with a whole host of other world renound design houses over his career !

This is his new autumn/winter collection 2008/2009

Im always interested in the hats he uses in his collection,They never disappoint and are always unique.
This season he has taken inspiration for his collections from 1920's style hats called a cloche.
I was in Spain last week and this style hat was EVERYWHERE!! Suprisingly it has'nt been around Ireland, our shores need to get on it for no other reason than I want to buy one!
Kicking myself I didnt get a gorgeous yellow one when i was over there - mistake!!!!

This is one of my favouritre hat styles of all time, delighted its back in popular circulation!

More..

More....Because i actually just can't get enough

These are both Vicktor & Rolf Fall 2008 collection.

HARLEQUIN

- This is Sass & Bride Fall collection 2008 (Wowsers!)

I might aswell start off with the most "in your face" of trends out there at the moment.
You can always trust the world of art, design and fashion to come to the floor and provide a wonderful world full of colour, dreams, extravagance..…and the Harlequin!

The Harlequin provides us with a wonderful world to escape to thanks to the vivid imagination of designers like Miu Miu, Karen Walker, Sass & Bide, Victor & Rolf and the like.
This trend has filtered its way down to the high streets from the catwalks of Milan, Paris and London from the spring/summer collections and iiiiiiiiii like it
Mui Mui aswell as being one of my favourite designers, is often a step ahead of the fashion pack.
I still dribble abit when i see their bags .....oh so beautiful.

When you thought of Harlequin before this present season, you thought Mardi Gras, Celebration and i guess now most definetely pop culture.
The style has a very theatrical vibe about it.....you feel as though you could wear a top-hat out ...and whats wrong with that after all?
It uses bold colours, prints and over the top ideas behind them...........damn im completely sold on this trend!HOW DID THEY KNOW???

Now finally we are in a culture of mix & match. Trends, styles, colours, cultures etc.....
I remember a time not too long ago that it was abit of a faux pas to wear black with navy, but thats all i wear now??
Oh my my how times have changed here on walton mountion, i feel like we owe this new found fashion freedom to so many innovative designers like Vivienne westwood -who always strives to be different and i guess totally "out there" no matter who is watching or critising her.
Another would be Marc Jacobs, Ive always liked the way he mixes styles, boyish cuts and fabrics for his work!
Mezhin!!!

We can choose vintage from any era now 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's!
We've never had so many clothes.......theres a phase i NEVER say!

So get out there and GET YOU TOPHATS ON!!!!!

Where to begin..........

How do you set the tone of a fashion blog?....puzzler....so i guess we'll just throw down our thoughts on trends of the moment, past influences, horrific and horrendous mistakes ...cause lets face it there are LOADS, new creative, innovative and life changing designs in style (is that abit dramatic at all??)

We'll put up Biographys of our favourite and influencal designers, along with the quotes, careeers and thinking ethos ..because after all these are/were the makers and breakers of fashion rules to live by and homage should be paid.
(Also some of them are just nuts and entertaining)

We'll throw in abit about celeb fashion too, well lets face it in our current climate of celebdom we get insparation from them...although i rarely give a crap about what there doing

Closer to festivel season, we hope to generate ideas and photos for what to wear at home and abroad etc...
As one of the reasons why we're here is that last summer (2008) all to be found for "insparation" was Kate Moss in hotpants or Agnes Dean prancing around Paris on a bike.......so considering the 1. Irish Weather (which is always shitty), 2. TENTS.....sick and hot oh ya and 3. not looking remotely that hot ever at or NOT at a festivel coupled together with the ever lovely unwashed stick to your scalp hair look.

So many reasons along with a love of fashion(yes that was just written and we're dicks)

So here we go....... feel free to comment good or bad, it can only led to an entertaining laugh/bit of a read when people are "hard at work"!!
